Meet the Expert: Sam Congdon from Vessel Beer Shop

We’re excited to have Sam Congdon, co-owner of Vessel Beer Shop, curating our beer selection this year. Sam, alongside his wife Katie, opened Vessel Beer Shop in Plymouth in December 2016, quickly becoming a hub for craft beer lovers with over three hundred beers and ciders from independent breweries. Their journey into the world of beer began in Leeds, where their shared passion led them to explore breweries across the UK, Europe, and the US.

After years of planning and gaining experience in the industry, Sam and Katie returned to Devon and Cornwall, bringing their love for unique and exciting brews back home. Over the past seven and a half years, Vessel Beer Shop has stocked thousands of beers, reflecting the growth and innovation of local breweries.

As a passionate Plymouth Argyle season ticket holder, Sam brings extensive knowledge to this festival, ensuring a selection that caters to every taste. His goal is to support local businesses while providing beer lovers with the opportunity to discover new favourites. Expect a diverse range of styles on tap, from well-known local breweries to hidden gems, all carefully curated for an unforgettable experience.
