First Booster Vaccines Delivered at Home Park Stadium

Having served as Mass Vaccination Centre since early in the year, Home Park Stadium saw its first COVID-19 booster vaccines delivered on Tuesday, 21 September.

Speaking as the first patients attended Home Park Stadium for their booster vaccines, our Head of Venue, Christian Kent, said: “It’s a really good thing for us to do in partnership with the NHS to support the local community through until the end of the programme.”

The Club Argyle lounge continues to be used for vaccinations on non-match and event days, with Home Park and NHS teams delivering dedicated clinical cleans between operations to ensure that the versatile space can be used for multiple purposes.

Christian continued: “We will continue to host vaccines when we don’t have football and events booked in – but we are inviting bookings for events, parties and conferences again – so it’s a really busy time at Home Park at the moment. On both sides, teams work really hard to make that happen, working long hours to prepare the venue and make sure things are running how they should be.

“The community is really important to Argyle and Home Park Stadium, and helping with the booster programme allows us to play our part in ensuring our community is as healthy as possible.”

Speaking on being able to continue to use Home Park Stadium for booster vaccines, NHS operations manager Samantha Rafferty said: “It’s really important as part of the community, the fact that it’s such a large venue, easily accessible for the elderly, and so central in the city, it’s absolutely fantastic.

“The system has just started inviting people in for their booster vaccination, and we’re already seeing people taking that option up, which is brilliant to see.

Those eligible for a booster vaccine can book from 26 weeks or 180 days after their second vaccination. You will be contacted by the NHS via email, SMS, and through the mail to book your appointment – walk-in appointments are not available at this stage, and you will be contacted if you are eligible for a booster vaccine.

Home Park Stadium remains open for bookings for all kinds of events, including conferences, dinners, evening parties and other functions. If you are interested in discussing bookings for an event, email [email protected], or call 01752 302206.
