Home Park Stadium ushered in its new era of exciting events with a night of ABBA performed by West End stars.
A crowd of nearly 2,000 dancing queens – and kings, for that matter – flocked into the stadium to enjoy two hours of classics from the Scandinavian pop giants, all performed by stage members of the blockbuster musical hit Mamma Mia!
More than 100 guests took advantage of our VIP service and lounge area, while our new initiative, the Thirsty Thirty – 30% of all food and drinks in the first half-hour of gates opening – was extremely well-received. Concert-goers enjoyed a range of hot and cold food offerings, including pulled pork rolls, artisan pizza twists, ice cream and popcorn, and a range of beverages, including Gin and Pimm’s.
Feedback from members of the performance team and audience alike was extremely positive, with the promoter commenting that it had been “one of the best shows on the tour,” as the audience danced the night away in the aisles of the Lyndhurst Road Stand.
Social media was also awash with positivity after a great night of music. On Facebook, Evelyn Skentelbury said: “A lovely evening with many thanks to security and Argyle staff for the help they gave.”
Following the success of the West End ABBA night, we are delighted to be offering tickets to our next musical extravanganza, An Evening of Queen, at Home Park Stadium on Sunday, September 22 – when the West End stars of We Will Rock You take to the stage in Devon for another unmissable experience.
Tickets are available on the Argyle Tickets website, through the Home Park Ticket Office, on 01752 907700, or in person.
